The replacement part is typically sold as a bundled assembly for around $175, so I decided to build it myself, and the result has met my needs 100%. The only downside is that I didn’t include the cover extension that overlaps the soap insertion area, which I find unnecessary. I also didn’t account for the release spring since I lost mine. However, the pressure applied to the seal when closed is sufficient to release the lid without needing a spring, as the latch disengages on its own. Aside from that, this unit has been working flawlessly for over one year now, with daily use in a household of six. **Note**: You will need to use your original seal.
