NA MX5 A/C delete with cabin filter (RHD)

This duct joins the blower fan to the HVAC housing on a RHD Mazda MX5/Miata/Roadster after the A/C evaporator assembly has been removed. It has provision to hold a cabin air filter to improve air quality (when the roof & windows are up of course!), as the filter is in the air stream from the fan, it will work on both the fresh and recirculate settings. The filter has just enough room to be removed & refitted with the housing & glovebox in place. No need to remove any car panels. Air filter part number below, it is a common filter found many Toyotas (Camry, Corolla, Yaris etc) as well as Lexus & Subaru, so it should be available anywhere in the world. Ryco RCA164P AC-DELCO ACC31 SAKURA CA1115 WIX 24483 BALDWIN PA4327 Fram CF10285 Will need to be assembled - Holes in the middle plate are sized to tap directly with an M6 tap (or SAE equivalent), then assemble with suitable fasteners. I used 12mm pan head screws. Or enlarge the holes to accept heat set threaded inserts if that's your style. Optionally, sand the flanges smooth and use a smear of RTV before assembly to ensure an air-tight seal. The door is held on with 2 x M6 bolts, these only need to be finger tight to retain the filter. To change filter, unscrew both bolts enough to allow the door to come out of the housing and swing it to one side, slide the old filter out, slide the new filter in and re-tighten the bolts. The housing is supported by the factory clamps, if the original foam has degraded on your clamps, please replace it with new 9mm adhesive backed foam strip - Should be available from most hardware stores, it's used to seal around doors to keep out draughts Files for blanking plugs are included to close off the holes in the firewall from the A/C lines and a plug for the drain pipe in the floor Please ensure you get the correct set of files for right hand drive or left hand drive (or mirror them in your slicer to suit)
